[upstream] Keep picture aspect ratio check box inoperational

1. Insert a picture into a document. (Insert > Picture > From File)
2. Right click on the picture and go to 'Picture...'
3. In 'Type' tab Check "Keep ratio" box.
4. Resize picture by dragging along the corners of the picture.

The x:y ratio should be preserved on resizing, but it is not.
I tested it with OOo Writer, Impress and Draw. Happens with both .jpg and .tiff files.

It works the way it implies it does... but not the way you want it to. If you check the keep picture aspect ratio and then change the size in that same tab directly above where you set that option it ensures that the aspect ratio is maintained. It does not however ensure that if you drag the picture around with the mouse that it stays in the same aspect ratio.

I just remembered that this bug sounded familiar.

You must hold down 'Shift' when you resize with the mouse to keep aspect ratio. The checkbox in the gui is for the resizing using the numbers like I said before.

Oh and as you thought Abiword was buggy too it probably uses the same convention of shift+mouse to resize keeping aspect ratio.

Thanks, that works for me at least. No, AbiWord uses some other unobvious method. I have no idea what.

I noticed the word "Wishlist", which may or may not be currently attached to this bug. Does that mean there is some chance of getting the UI changed? It is not very discoverable. Anyone switching from MS Word will probably be frustrated by this.
