Bug Description

Xorg suddenly crashed without any reason. The screen turns black and my keyboard does not work. Hence could not reset my machine and had to hard reset it. Mouse works though.

I am using kubuntu, Ubunutu 9.04 x86_64 jaunty jackalope.
Xorg version in the Xorg.log says :
X.Org X Server 1.6.0
Release Date: 2009-2-25
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0

I found a small backtrace in my Xorg log:

Backtrace:
0: /usr/bin/X(xorg_backtrace+0x26) [0x4f1b66]

I've posted a new version of the -fglrx driver to our xorg-edgers PPA,
would you mind testing it either on Jaunty or Karmic and see if it
resolves this bug?

Get fglrx 8.620 here:
