supertuxkart doesn't start anymore

Bug Description
Binary package hint: supertuxkart
When I start supertuxkart from the menu nothing happens
when using a terminal the command returns following error :

Tried so far:
re-install the package
completely remove package and re-install
the alsa-error is ok: I use OSS and sound is fine
STK worked after upgrading to 9.04 but stopped working after a big update (400+MB).

Just a random Idea: Has your display an size of at least 1024x768? If supertuxkart/ config so width is set to 800 and height to 600?
not, could you check if supertuxkart comes p if you edit
