Option to turn off auto-resize feature of bar

It would be great to have the option of turning off the auto-resize function of the bar. I'd like for my icons to all be stationary and to allow a space(size set by me) for additional tasks. The constant resizing has become annoying as it happens while I may be trying to click another icon, therefore clicking the wrong icon.

Have you tried changing the configuration key bar/bar_pos (found in gconf as /apps/avant-window-navigator/bar/bar_pos), which changes the dock's horizontal position, to 0 (left-hand side) or 1 (right-hand side)?

Note that AFAIK, you need to restart the dock for the bar position changes to be applied.

That more or less may have solved most of my issue. I would like to be able to set the size of the taskbar portion of the bar though.

In 0.4, there will be an option to expand the dock in a similar manner to a standard panel.

I would think that having a fixed size dock would just re-create your original problem, as when the dock gets too wide, it will have to resize all of the icons on the dock to make them all fit.

Panel mode now exists in the 0.4 branch. An option for fixing the size of the dock to anything other than the width of the screen (i.e., panel mode) will not be considered for the 0.4 series.
