spell checking doesn't work after installation

I run synaptic make search rus and install all localization and language packages for gnome and open office. Also I have been installed aspell-ru and ispell-ru. It doesn't help so I go to their site of extentions and download spell checking extention(dict_ru-RU.oxt version 0.5) Install it by double clicking. Openoffice said that everething is fine and extention is installed. But it still doesn't check my spelling.

Does OpenOffice.org show that it detects the spellchecker in Tools->Options->Language Settings->Languages->Western->Russian, it should have a checkmark with 'ABC'. If it does not it is not detecting your spellchecker. Also you must have your document or at least paragraph set to the language you are trying to spellcheck for. You can set it in the same place above or go to Tools->Language and set it there.

Yes it's it works because I hade Ukrainian language there.I change it to russian and all works. but in installation of ubuntu I set location ukraine, language -> russian so it's an installator bug. It doesn't set property language.
