I'm having the exact same problem as what's described in the initial post. I also only started experiencing this after upgrading to Jaunty.

I have the same in Jaunty since today (used to work finefore be). It segfaults immediately on thunderbird startup when I have the lightning-extension installed. Thunderbird starts up just fine if I uninstall lightning-extension.

The same happens to me now with jaunty - did work fine the last months though but now it immediately gives segmentation fault in the terminal while lightning is enabled.

I think this bug is a duplicate of 383670. Is there any update on that one?

I agree that the symptoms are the same as 383670. I discovered that I also had google-calendar-provider installed. Deinstalling that made thunderbird work even with my old profile and lightning-extension. (Actually, reinstalling the calendar-google-provider still works now). I do use a different remote ical file now, don't know if that also cold make a difference.
