this is definitely not a firefox bug. not sure where to file this against; without knowing anything i would guess its a driver issue. moving to kernel package.

affects: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) → linux (Ubuntu)

Please attach the output of the following:

sudo lsusb -v > lsusb-v.log
dmesg > dmesg.log

Also please wait to capture the dmesg output after you've attempted to use the webcam just in case anything interesting gets logged. Thanks.

thanks Leann for contacting me.

i entered the 2 lines in the terminal, copied and pasted, first time i
use command so not sure if i omited any moves, but nothing has changed
on ekiga or cheese, the camera is not detected.

i am dual booting here, intel p4, xp and jaunty;
skype and my webcam works well on this desktop.

i installed ekiga for windows on xp as well but got the same problem than with
jaunty as the microphone is detected but not the cam.

i also tried ekiga on my xp pro sony laptop,,same!
may be the problem lies with ekiga/logitch rather than ubuntu,
keeping in mind that i, the operator may be the problem!!

Thanks for helping
JN Clement
