Thanks for the bug report.

Does this happen to you every time?

Is the gnome-screensaver daemon running after you login?
If you lock the screen manually with Ctrl-Alt-L, does it lock properly?

Could you please take a look at the following debugging page and include here the relevant information?

If you don't start firefox, does it work properly?

What do you do to trigger hibernation?

No, it does not.

>What do you do to trigger hibernation?
As reported originally I use Asus Eeepc 1000H (Ubuntu remix product branch
for netbooks). Hibernation is triggered by closing the cover -> hibernation
event is generated.

What happens if you select "Hibernate" from the fast user switching applet, instead of closing the lid?

- button "shutdown the computer" -> "Hibernate option" selected -> pc is in hibernate state.
- Resume -> no lock screen is shown.
Actually the same problem happens if I select hibernation manually from shut down menu.

Could you try killing gnome-power-manager and starting it the following way:

gnome-power-manager --no-daemon --debug > ~/gpm-log.txt 2>&1

Once that's running in a terminal, try hibernating and resuming and attach the generated log file to this bug.

Thanks.

It seems there are not that many traces from gpm.. Hope that info is enough to narrow down the problem.

Could you please do the following:

$ gconftool-2 --dump /apps/gnome-screensaver /apps/gnome-power-manager /desktop/gnome/session /desktop/gnome/lockdown > screen-locking-debug.xml

Also, could you try killing gnome-power-manager once more and starting it the following way:

gnome-power-manager --debug > ~/gpm-log.txt 2>&1

Once that's running in a terminal, try hibernating and resuming and attach the generated log file to this bug.

Please open System/Preferences/Screensaver and check the "Lock screen when screensaver is active" checkbox.
