Bug Description

I just upgraded my machine to 9.04 from 8.10 through the updates manager. It seemed to install just fine but on the reboot I am getting no video. The systems starts up just fine, getting past the loading screen. After that the video goes haywire, just colored stripes and I cannot tell if anything is happening. I am not sure if my log-in is working and Ctrl+alt+backspace does not reboot the machine. I am running an Intel E8500 processor on a Gigabyte EP45-DS3L with an ATI HD-3450 video card and 4 GB of RAM. This set-up was working just fine with version 8.10.
