Bug Description

Binary package hint: nvidia-settings

The NVidia Settings are lost after the Ubuntu 9.04 restart or resume.

To resume my NVidia configuration I must reopen the "NVidia Settings" panel (without change anything, just open it).

I know to can solve this issue simply using the "gksudo nvidia-settings" command line via terminal, but my question is why do not add the "gksudo" prefix to the Ubuntu "NVidia Settings Menu" so that any normal user could saved his settings?

Thanks for your time! :)

Hi fabio-dellaria,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

I had some issues with this when using a television as a second display with overscan correction. There's a fairly simple workaround available.
