Bug Description

When clicking on "Report a problem" under system tools, nothing happens.

Machine: HP Pavillion with dual-core 64-bit AMD, 4GB of memory. The 64-bit 9.04 is installed (Ubuntu 2009-04-14).

BTW, the selection "Ubuntu jaunty" does not work in Launchpad.

affects: ubuntu → apport (Ubuntu)

Desktop file ``apport-gtk-mime.desktop'' executes apport-gtk by calling ``/usr/share/apport/apport-gtk -c %f'' and %f is empty so apport-gtk prints usage information and quits.
I'm also not sure if apport-gtk is even meant to be used as a standalone application as it is installed in ``/usr/share/apport'' and doesn't do anything when executed without arguments.

summary: - "Report a Problem" crashes
+ "Report a Problem" from System Tools menu doesn't start.

.desktop files is called ``apport-gtk-mime.desktop'' and I guess it is used to enable nautilus to open apport bugs..
I guess the only question that remains is if it should be possible to even add it to the menu.

a chat on #ubuntu-bugs explained the reason for this entry: it is needed for mimetype (so that an user can click on an apport crash report on Nautilus, for example, and have apport-gtk run.

This entry is not selected by default, but must exist because of requirements (a .desktop automatically populates the menu).

As such, marking as invalid.

@ve7mdl: please unselect this entry from the menu.

A question could be made to *not* have entries only for MIME actions not added to the menu. This should be pursued on the xdg-list (http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/xdg or mailto:<email address hidden>).

This also affects MIMEtype handlers (shown on the "Open with" option in Nautilus.
