Bug Description

Environment: Kubuntu 9.04 Live CD
Package version: konqueror 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu4

You can reproduce this simply by opening this bug report in Konqueror :-). In fact, that's how I discovered it:

Here is some text. This is the first paragraph.

And here is a second paragraph. With some more text. Neat, huh?

If you try to copy+paste this text from this web page, into e.g. the "add comment" text box, you will lose the blank line which separates the paragraphs, i.e.:

Here is some text. This is the first paragraph.
And here is a second paragraph. With some more text. Neat, huh?

For example, just open this bug report in Konqueror.

Now copy the text portion of my bug report.
Then paste it into the comment box below the report or into Kate, or whatever.

The result is that the linebreaks are lost. I tested this and it works with Gecko and WebKit.

Hi there!

Thanks for reporting this bug! Your bug seems to be a problem with the KDE program itself, and not with our KDE packages. But don't worry! This issue is being tracked by the KDE developers at: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=201417
Once fixed in KDE, it will be included in Kubuntu once the KDE version the fix is in in reaches Kubuntu.

Thanks!

Dear user,

KHTML (and KJS) was a long time more or less unmaintained and got removed in KF6.

Please migrate to use a QWebEngine based HTML component.

We will do no further fixes or improvements to the KF5 branches of these components beside important security fixes.

For security issues, please see:

https://kde.org/info/security/

Sorry that we did not fix this issue during the life-time of KHTML.

Greetings
Christoph Cullmann
