Bug Description
This bug may be a duplicate of #308324, but I believe there are differences.
Tested on version 0.46 on Windows XP and Ubuntu. It works the same on both.
The problem comes if you create a straight bezier line by dragging with the mouse. Inkscape will allow the user to click-drag with the mouse to create a straight line, double clicking at the end. If you create a straight line in this fashion, it is impossible to add nodes with the path editing tool.
I now realize that the proper way to create a straight bezier line is to click, release, drag, and double click. If I create a straight line in this fashion node addition works just fine.
This is a minor problem, since there is an easy work around, but the fact that Inkscape allows the user to create visually identical lines that are in fact not the same is confusing and may present future problems.

Bug confirmed with 0.46.
But it works well on Ubuntu 9.04, build 21237 and Windows, build 21210.
I think we can consider it fixed.
