Bug Description

I operate 9.04 on my Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop. I update my system daily. I know this has been reported but remains unresolved. On shut down, the internal speaker makes rapid, loud beeps lasting almost one second.

My Dell Latitude D620 also does 3 beeps. I am pretty sure you have the same problem as the one described in bug #331589, which is actually annoying because of bug #290204.

This bug describes two problems:
