I can confirm this behavior with an up to date karmic (x64) and tilda 0.09.6-1 (fresh install)

tilda does not work well with some shell (the one in the SHELL variable), try SHELL="/bin/bash" tilda
a workaround is to use the option "run a custom command".

tilda will also segfault on you if your config files somehow get munged- look in ~/.tilda and make sure you don't suddenly have a second config file.

I ran ‘sudo apt-get purge tilda && sudo apt-get install tilda’ and it still doesn’t work.

I tried ‘SHELL="/bin/bash" tilda’ and it still didn’t work.

I’m not sure what update broke my Tilda installation, but I’m forced to use Yakuake until it is fixed.

Running 64-bit Jaunty, fully updated.

David, can you try removing your ~/.tilda directory and tell us if the error goes away?
Thank you

Oh, I was under the impression that ‘sudo apt-get purge tilda’ would do that automatically.

OK, I did ‘rm -frv ~/.tilda’ and now my Tilda works fine.

Fixed for me!
SHELL='/bin/bash' tilda
did the trick.

After it, I was able to configure it's launch using even zsh :)

This bug is closed upstream (without obvious solution or patch), but we are able to make it work with one or another workaround.

Even though I was able to start it by setting SHELL='/bin/bash' and by using "Run a custom program", I consider this bug far from being fixed...
