Bug Description

Hello
I did a fresh installation of ubuntu 9.04 server 64 bits, and a fresh installation of ebox.
After the first reboot, I noticed that ebox-loggerd was taking a lot of CPU and found that it was just because that process stops and restarts again and again.
Please get the following logs :

Apr 26 12:01:54 Amilto init: ebox.loggerd main process ended, respawning
Apr 26 12:02:25 Amilto last message repeated 29 times
Apr 26 12:02:57 Amilto last message repeated 30 times
Apr 26 12:01:54 Amilto init: ebox.loggerd main process ended, respawning
Apr 26 12:02:25 Amilto last message repeated 29 times
Apr 26 12:02:57 Amilto last message repeated 30 times
etc...

Thanks for the report. I've just created a ticket in our trac [0]. I'll be working on fixing this issue soon. In the meanwhile you can disable the log daemon in "Module status".

I'm experiencing this issue as well. It seems to be universal on Jaunty. Perhaps the ebox package should be removed from stable?

That's already fixed in 1.3. You can safely disable the logs module. That doesn't mean your services won't stop logging, that means that you wont be able to see service logs through the eBox interface.
