Binary package hint: totem

I'm using totem on jaunty. If I open a recent file through the File menu, it gets added to the queue instead of replacing the currently playing file.

Yes, it is.

-Open file A in totem.
-Use Totem's File → Recent menu to open file B.
-B opens, but A is still in the play list.
-If you open file C from the File → Recent menu, files A and B stay in the play list.

I'm not confirming the issue on a stock jaunty installation, do you have the issue only when displaying the sidepane on playlist mode or something?

It always happens. Even without the sidepane, you can see how the Previous button becomes active, indicating that there's more than one item in the play list.

your description is confusing, the select video is played but it's also added to the playlist ... is that your issue there? you want it to be played but not being added to the playlist? anyway that's an upstream choice not a bug, if you disagree you should open a bug on bugzilla.gnome.org directly

could be, you are contacting the distributors there not the people writting the software

not that I know that doesn't mean it's not a choice, open a bug on the GNOME bug tracker if you want to discuss the choice
