KDE webdavs ioslave no longer works - doesn't send authorization header

Binary package hint: kdelibs-data
I use the KDE webdavs ioslave to connect to a webdav service. After upgrading to Jaunty (KDE 4.2.2), the webdavs ioslave no longer works. The site I connect to uses basic authentication. I checked the webdav ioslave and experienced the same problem. Looking at the transaction with Wireshark, It appears that the ioslave is not sending the Authorization header on the request following the first 401 response.
Konqueror error page includes the following text:
