Bug Description

A lot of people are actually confused when wanting to install ubuntu netbook remix as they need a LPIA iso and UNR is only available as i386.
Most of them will install MID and then install the ubuntu-netbook-remix package. But we should just have an LPIA version of the UNR img. Especially that the repository for LPIA is already up and running for jaunty...

On ubuntu.com when downloading the UNR img it says "What do I need to install Ubuntu Netbook Remix?" and below that it says "An Intel Atom processor". This gives more confusion because then you download an i386 image...

UNR is not fully optimized for netbooks without lpia support. LPIA is one of the main features specific to netbooks and shouldn't be ignored.

i386 was a safer bet for the first release of UNR, also having an i386 and a lpia version double the QA time; however we will consider this idea for 9.10, there are some issues with lpia still.

So we wont have a lpia kernel for karmic; we're keeping the port building, but we don't recommend new installations; I'm wontfixing this for now. If the port becomes active again, we'll reconsider this.

I absolutely agree with Giuseppe. I do not understand why a nebook remix won't be based on LPIA? It makes no sense sice almost every netbook is Atom-based.

It's not specific to UNR; we're deprecating lpia for now as it's creating many problems for little gain.
