Bug Description

during upgrade from intrepid to jaunty (using update-manager -d) I had configured debconf to use the kde frontend

still a number of packages asked questions with red/blue dialogs in the terminal window emulation of the update-manager instead of using the kde frontend.

this were packages that use ucf like e.g. samba-common

The questions I remember were questions regarding "should the conffile be kept or the maintainer version be used".

ucf doesn't alter the frontend configuration; this comes from elsewhere, either update-manager or debconf itself.

affects: ucf (Ubuntu) → update-manager (Ubuntu)

1, meta: This bug had not been an "issue for me".
But I had posted it as a possible contribution to ubuntu quality.
Interest was scarce, probably because of more important things -> ok with me.

2, technical: I have not been upgrading any systems to jaunty recently so I cannot comment on the bug state.
