new repositories won't update synaptic/update manager

Binary package hint: synaptic

hi all,
i installed almost a week ago the 9.04 RC, and i really enjoy it. I formatted the HD in order to have EXT4.
Since it's a fresh install, i added, just like i did when i had 8.10, the Medibuntu repos. i tried, but until today (5 days or so) synaptic didn't update the packages within it, so i can't install Skype, or Acroread or Mozilla-acroread plugin and so forth..

i checked within the Terminal, and so that there's a massive ignorance from many repos., even the Ubuntu 3rd party..

hope you'll be able to help me.. it's a weird and interesting issue..
