spdif audio stopped working

Bug Description

installed umbutu and all sounds work, but when I reboot spdif stops working. Analog
output still works. spdif works when install off of live cd. I did not download any updates
until after problem occurred.

Ubuntu 5.10 is no longer supported and will therefore not receive bug fixes. If you are still experiencing this problem with Ubuntu 6.06 or later please open a new bug against the appropriate kernel package. Thanks.
