Cursor problem

Okay, I've done my homework and found similar problems reported on the net. I'm not sure if this is a bug, but it's MADDENING! My cursor keeps jumping around when I'm typing text, even in emails and when I'm filling in forms on-line. This happens on BOTH my laptops - one using Ubuntu 8.4 and the other 8.10. Please, what is the problem and how can it be fixed??? If it can't be, then I'll have to go back to Windows ....

I've found a simple fix for this in Karmic Ubuntu 9.10 - Touchfreeze is in the Synaptic Package Manager. Once installed, it allows you to switch the touchpad on and off while typing - and if you're using a mouse, there's then no problems either ...

I have same problem.
I use Ubuntu Netbook Edition.
My system it is Asus Eee PC 1015PED.
In Windows 7 Starter cursor works fine.
Can you help me?
