Bug Description

I have a AR5008 PCI Wireless card in my workstation, and booting Jaunty RC Kernel (+ all updates) and trying to join the WPA network always results in a totally frozen machine.

I upgraded the kernel to mainline 2.6.30-rc2 and I was able to connect and work with the wireless network without any problem.

This is present in the jaunty release kernel as well - I have to upgrade to mainline to get working wireless.

I can confirm this behavior. When trying to connect to a WPA/WPA2 network the system totally freezes with AR5008 PCI Wireless Card. On jaunty release kernel.

Can you try installing the linux-backports-modules-jaunty package to see if it helps. It contains an updated compat-wireless stack. Please let us know your results. Thanks.
