Bug Description

Not shure if I can call it a bug, but I installed the Jaunty Release candidate UNR from the img file, my hardware was configured immediately but the performance of the wi-fi connection on my Toshiba NB100 was very poor very often reported as only 1mbit with peaks of 11.
I then installed the alternate lpia version from a converted iso the wi-fi connection was not immediately operational, I installed linux-backports-modules-jaunty and my wireless was up and running at 54mbits what is the difference between the two set-ups?

summary: - i386 vs lpia
+ i386 vs lpia wi-fi
affects: desktop-switcher → netbook-remix

So there are differences between the configs of the lpia and of the i386 generic kernel; also there's no backports package for lpia. This is why the two differed I guess.

Changed in netbook-remix:

Hi Sandman652001,

This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 364278

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.
