mobile connection lanunch dissapiar from network manager

after first mobile phone pluging in, it (ubuntu 9.04 RC) sugested to choise an mobile operator and then well connected to the internet. But lately there (network-manager) was no picture of connection, only for disconected wi-fi. seting up a new connection, jr even creation a new user wasn't helpfull.
morethen there wasn't a wvdial packege so there was no way to connect
