Bug Description
Binary package hint: guessnet
Guessnet used to work on my laptop, but is now hanging.
I execute:
sudo guessnet-ifupdown --debug
The output is:
guessnet: program name is guessnet-ifupdown: enabling ifupdown mode
Then it sits there with no response. CTRL+C successfully aborts the program
Laptop with disconnected eth0 (eth0 is not up) and wireless running as wlan0
Dell D630 laptop
See attatched file for lsmod ouput, my /etc/network/
Ubuntu Intrepid
guessnet version 0.49-1

Hi,
I have the same hardware as you (also a D630). I can confirm what you have. Running Karmic. I do however have a working network setup. And I never call guessnet directly.
But my interfaces file looks different, see https:/ /help.ubuntu. com/community/ NetworkConfigur ationCommandLin e/Automatic# Configure% 20multiple% 20locations for what I have (the page is WIP) but that part is fully done.
What happens when you ifup/ifdown your interfaces? Do you see any relevant information?
Could be that this is related to https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ guessnet/ +bug/433677
