Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

evolution-data-server quits sometimes after loading my task list. Usually it works the first time but crashes after several loads.

For instance, if I start evolution and then click the Clock applet several times, which causes the task list to load repeatedly inside the clock, evolution-data-server will quit and Evolution will produce the usual message, "The Evolution tasks have quit unexpectedly."

My task list is on a CalDAV server.

If I run evolution-data-server from the shell, it produces this output before quitting:

I cannot give you more (like a backtrace or so), because the evolution-data-server does NOT crash!

I'm using the following program versions:

evolution 2.26.1-0ubuntu2
evolution-common 2.26.1-0ubuntu2
evolution-data-server 2.26.1-0ubuntu2
evolution-data-server-common 2.26.1-0ubuntu2
evolution-webcal 2.26.0-0ubuntu1
libedataserver1.2-11 2.26.1-0ubuntu2

On the server: DaviCal-0.9.3

Could somebody having the issue send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)?

I could, but it's been about a month or so since I've seen the bug (must be something changed in my config since evolution hasn't been upgraded since then)

Perhaps it would be better if Sven opened upstream bug report.

I haven't seen a tasklist-associated crash in a few months, although I've been running Karmic for only about a week now. I don't know if this is because the problem has been fixed or if something else is masking it. I still get occasional Evolution crashes, they just don't appear so clearly to be related to the task list.

Thanks for the report, it has been some time without any response or feedback in this bug report and we are wondering if this is still an issue for you with the latest release of Ubuntu the Natty Narwhal, May you please test with that version and comment back if you're still having or not the issue? Please have a look at http://www.ubuntu.com/download to know how to install that version. Thanks in advance.
