Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdepim

After I upgraded to Kubuntu Jaunty, kmail will start itself automatically at the start of a session. It also keeps restarting itself after I exit it. Killing the process fares no better - it restarts! It's definitely not in the autostart config and I can't see it mentioned in the service manager either.

Help!

If I manually load kontact after kmail and select kontact's kmail component, then type 'killall kmail' in a shell, I can get the kmail reloading to stop for the session. Not a permanent fix, but keeps me from immediately switching to another PIM

It's related to IMAP resources - see upstream bug, fixed in KDE 4.2.3: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=189824

Closing since the fix has been released to the development version of Kubuntu 9.10.
Packages are also available for jaunty (http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.2.3)
