Discard all samples (playback) or generate zero samples (capture)

And now doing as in the wiki (settings see attachment)

-> When starting a recording's playback, AC3-Symbol on Receiver flashes, there is sound for 1-2 sec an maybe every half minute. When hitting <esc> mythfrontend shutsdown unexpectedly.

mp2 works, but sounds distorted. The same mpg palyed in vlc or kaffeine is fine - with ac3 passthrough and all.

Thank you for helping to improve Mythbuntu by opening this ticket. Were you able to resolve this issue? If so, what steps did you take? If not, I'm under the impression that AC3 support has gotten better in MythTV 0.22, and that audio support continues to be enhanced in 0.23 (which is about to go to beta). Can you try either of those and report back if that resolves your issue?

WARNING: If you need to have the ability to revert back to your current version, you will need to back up your database before upgrading so that you can later restore it, since newer databases can not be downgraded.

Please close this bug. It is now the other way round - in the dev ppa for 0.23 ac3 (even upmixing to ac3) always works like a charm for months - it is the rest of the mediaplayers that has troubles now on karmic. As lucid is so near, we should call it a day...
