Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

This is with Ubuntu 9.04, all updates available right now applied.

I stumbled over this as evolution started to hang when activating the calendar component with the message "Opening file ...".

I toyed around a bit and deleted all the ~/.evolution/calendar/local directories, causing evolution to get unstuck when switching to the calendar component (although my calendar entries are now missing).

Trying to get my entries back, I took the backup of the deleted directory and tried importing the ICS files individually, causing a hang.

I traced the hang, see attached backtrace.

My guess is that there is some specific event object that causes evolution to choke - both when it's already imported and the calendar gets activated and when the same ICS file gets imported.

thank you for your bug report, the crash seems to be a hang due to evolution-data-server crashing, could you get a stacktrace for this one?

Changed in evolution (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs)
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → Incomplete
affects: evolution (Ubuntu) → evolution-data-server (Ubuntu)

I think I applied the patch correctly but the hang is still there.

Argh. Sorry. Just noticed I didn't installed the right set of packages after building.

It works now.
