Bug Description

Binary package hint: blender

The window text editor in Blender 2.48a, in Ubuntu Jaunty, doesn't support UTF-8 characters.

If you try write some characters as: á é í ó ú or ñ

you get: ´a ´e ´i ´o ´u or ñ

But if you open a text file with these same characters, you get:
á é í ó ú or ñ

It looks like this bug is already fixed
In blender 2.6x/2.7x, if you want to use UTF-8 characters, you need to enable User Preferences -> System -> International Fonts .

Probably it should be enabled as default, since UTf-8 should be the standard.
