Bug Description
Binary package hint: network-manager
Since about a month ago along the Jaunty development, NetworkManager lost the ability to connect to my university's unencrypted wireless network. This is a network that has many WAPs of the same ESSID on a variety of different channels, which seems to be NetworkManager's Achilles heel. (See also Bug #111502.) Disabling NetworkManager, I am able to manually connect to the network using iwconfig and dhclient.
This is on a MacBook 5.1 with Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 64-bit, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic, NetworkManager 0.7.1~rc4.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release the Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http:// www.ubuntu. com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
