Bug Description

Hi there

I decided to give Ubuntu 9.04 a try after a terrible experience from 8.10 -all because of my wireless lan adapter card- atheros AR5007EG.
Running on live cd mode, ubuntu correctly identified the card and it worked out. I downloaded the updates and the update manager said it was necessary to reboot the machine.
And here is where my nightmare restarts. The card is no longer recognized -that's because after restarting the system, it acts like there is no wireless lan adapter installed. network manager doesn't show me available wireless networks and if the wired adapter is unplugged, network manager displays an icon saying there is no network device connected.
I don't know who I can blame, but since I was using the open source driver (I believe it was because when running the system from the livecd, 'hardware drivers' listed me one closed driver option, and it wasn't activated)I switched to the closed driver and rebooted. It didn't work either.

I hope I can help you to help me guys, since I don't know what kind of information I can provide you with.
In fact, I expected this card to work but it seems it's gonna be hard to do it...anyway, if you want some more info from the terminal just ask for it and I will post it here ASAP.

Thanks.
EDIT: It was my mistake to select the kernel version. This is related to Linux kernel 2.6.28-9 version. Sorry.
