Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-mount

The notification window of "Writing data to device" and "Safe to remove" warnings shows behind the other windows, so the user could lost the chance to read it. I think that window should be displayed in front of the whole desktop.

Actually, I found the same problem in the "Restart required" dialog. The window is hidden behind the other windows, and the user could be stay hours without restarting the computer. I don't know if I need to open another bugreport for this.

Thanks. The "restart required" window is update-notifier, and as far as I know it's not meant to elbow itself to the foreground.

Yes, but the sync window shouldn't be a window at all, it should be a notification, ergo this "bug" should not exist.

Why are we insisting on changing everything up? How is this any better than the pointless changes we don't like in _other_ operating systems? I am horribly confused.

Michael, I'm with you. I really dislike the lack of "classical" notifications, but that's a discussion for the bugreport #332600.
