netspeed 0.14-3 Traffic monitor applet for GNOME

I have two network interfaces in my machine at work. Eth0 is currently not used. Eth1 is a nic that was added to the system and is currently active. When I try to configure the netspeed applet I can see eth0 greyed out in the interface, but the drop-down is not active. I have no ability to have the applet point to the proper NIC.
