Bug Description

Binary package hint: yakuake

OS: Xubuntu 9.04 (updated as of April 16th 2009)
Package:
yakuake:
  Installed: 2.9.4-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.9.4-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.9.4-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://ubuntu.mirror.rafal.ca jaunty/universe Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Problem:
Under a multi-monitor configuration, Yakuake under XFCE will open on the screen the mouse is active on instead of obeying Yakuake's "Open on screen" option.

To Reproduce:
1. Be in a multi-monitor configuration
2. Use XFCE as your WM
3. Set Yakuake to always open on screen 1
4. Make sure Yakuake is hidden/dormant
5. Move mouse cursor to screen 2
6. Press Yakuake activation key

Expected:
Yakuake should open on screen 1.

Result:
Yakuake opens on screen 2. Opening the Yakuake preferences shows the "Open on screen" preference to still be set at "Screen 1."

Furthur problem reproduction steps:
7. Once the above bug is triggered, close/hide Yakuake (but do not exit)
8. Move mouse cursor to screen 1
9. Press Yakuake activation key

Expected behaviour:
Considering the behaviour seen in steps 1 through 6, Yakuake should open on Screen 1.

Result:
Yakuake opens again on screen 2.

Workaround:
Open the preferences. "Open on screen" setting is still set to "Screen 1." Simply click "OK" without changing any options and Yakuake will return to Screen 1 immediately. The bug can then be reproduced again.

This is a regression from Ubuntu 8.10.

Some notes on my environment:
- I am using XFCE's Compositor
- I am using "Click to Focus"

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. Was this fixed in the final release of Xubuntu 9.04? Could you test it in Xubuntu 9.10 if it was not fixed in Xubuntu 9.04?
