I think this crash is related.

It looks uim related, I think I'll just switch IMEs.

Can you please build the libgnomeuimm2.6 source package with debug symbols
(DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip,noopt apt-get -b source libgnomeuimm2.6) and do the
stack trace again?

Does it help?

I switched to scim (same backend, m17nlib) and it works now. I don't really have
time now to switch back, compile, and test right now, sorry.

OK, fair enough. Maybe you could instead quickly describe the environment where
the crash occurs? Which locale (language and country) are you using? Which
particular input method?

If I can reproduce the crash, I can debug it myself.

Thanks!

The locale is en_US.UTF-8 .
The input method was uim-m17nlib with /usr/share/m17n/rfc1345.mim (I think uim
called it m17n-rfc1345).

If I remember correctly, the crash occured while the input method was disabled
(i.e. set to rfc1345 for all apps but inactive by default for new apps and text
fields).

By the way, both crashes (g-c-manager and g-c-add) were fixed by switching to scim.

I also got this issue with nautilus in Breezy, when I clicked on one of my
"Places" item to open a folder. The backtrace looks very similar.
My locale is fr_FR.UTF-8 and I'm using UIM with its anthy backend and the UIM
gnome applet.

I'll attach my various config files below.

There exists known workaround, waiting for Debian upstream to fix it.

Ok, disabling --enable-debug sounds easy enough. Raising priority.

Did somebody try this on current dapper already? The title says [breezy], is it
fixed in dapper?

According to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5182 this is fixed in
dapper's uim version, and it's universe anyway, so I close this now. If somebody
is interested to fix that for breezy, please refer to the Malone bug:
