Thanks for your report and working to make Ubuntu better. There seemed to be a configuration error during the installation. Gnome-power-manager has gone through some significant changes since version 2.24.0-0ubuntu8.2 (newest release is 2.27.2-0ubuntu2); have you had any problems since? Also have you tried on Karmic Koala? Thanks again.

3) happened after a fresh install immediately after a update
4) additional errors occured
