Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution v2.24.3 in ubuntu desktop v8.10

When sending email via smtp, smtp auth, or smtp auth + ssl admin of anonymizing service informs me an extra line space exists between the headers and the body which can result in the originating info being visible in the headers of the outbound anonymized msg. Problem visible to sender under smtp, no auth, no ssl when sending msg from anon acct to non-anon acct. Problem visible to service admin regardless of send options.

I have Evolution setup to reply before the messge text, nothing else out of the ordinary afaik.

First bug report, hope it contains the correct info.

/usr/bin/evolution is the binary pkg according to the directions, the directions for the source pkg returns 85 candidates with evolution as the first.

Thanks for the report, please try to obtain an evolution log with: CAMEL_DEBUG=all evolution >& evo.log send the message get the error and attach that file to the report, let's see if it shows anything, thanks.

The log file comes up empty, I'm too ignorant to know why. I ran the
command line from home prompt as written which opened Evolution. I
created a new msg and sent it. Once received I checked the log file in
my home directory with gedit but it's empty.

Here's a link the postmaster at the anonymizer pointed me toward wrt
Evolution broken headers, with lots of examples.

http://<email address hidden>/msg11770.html

Seems it was entered as a bug seven years ago, or at least it's said to
have been. Maybe something useful here? Postmaster mentioned googling
Evolution and broken headers returned a surprising number of hits and
gave this one as an example.

He is unable to reproduce the problem.

I'll continue to check my setup to see if I've munged something in mime
attachments or whatnot.

Thanks for your time, sorry I'm not knowledgeable to be of more help.

Cheers,
Pete

Sebastien,

Sorry for the delay, ISP issues.

I'm having enough of a challenge getting Intrepid functional not having
dealt with unix in a dozen years or so. Unlikely to try an install of
Jaunty for a while yet, sorry.
