Bug Description

I have tried the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/SuspendResumeTesting for Jaunty. Normal suspend works fine but there is a problem since the Dell Inspiron 1525 isn't able to wakeup with the acpi alarm timer. Every time the button needs to be pressed. The bios is the latest one - A16 - and it doesn't seem to be hardware specific because Windows XP can wake up this laptop while in suspend to initiate the hibernate.

So I guess it is a kernel problem and since this is the laptop shipped with Ubuntu by Dell they should be very cooperative.

Hi unggnu,

This looks like it might be a duplicate of bug 307090, can you confirm if the "hpet=disable" boot option workaround works for you? Also I'd also point to an upstream bug http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12013 . Thanks.
