Bug Description

The modal-"Could not downlaod all repository indexes"-error dialog is not transient and causes the application to look like its dead (because the dialog is not shown in the panel either). The same happens for the generic error dialog with "The following problems were found on your system:"

We have to minimize all windows, and unminimize the main-form [update-manager] to see the modal-form.

The modal-form say:
"Error"
"The following problems were found on your system:"

The same happen when the update-manager faill to download the package from the internet.

Thanks for this additional information.

I'm not quite sure what the problem is here. When I tried to reproduce it I only get a error dialog that is displayed over the update-manager window (modal).

Could you please add a screenshot of the problem and some tips how to reproduce it?

Thanks,
 Michael

Just change one url of source.list to give a error..
Or just download a packaged that aren't (now) in the repository..

Thanks for this additonal info and the screenshots.

I can reproduce the problem now. The trouble is that the error dialog for "Could not downlaod all repository indexes" (from synaptic) is not set to modal for the update-manager window.

Thanks,
 Michael
