Bug Description

Steps to reproduce:

1. install opensp, w3c-dtd-xhtml
2. run "onsgmls -s 'http://validator.w3.org'"

Zillions of errors ensue. The first is: "onsgmls:/usr/share/xml/xhtml/schema/dtd/1.0/xhtml1-strict.dtd:237:27:E: omitted tag minimization parameter can be omitted only if OMITTAG NO is specified"

This also manifests itself in the epiphany-extensions "Error Viewer" extension.

These look like valid xml parse errors. Are you sure that this is a bug in the package and not a problem with the site? Thank you.

It's certainly not an error with the web page (validator.w3.org uses valid XHTML). It happens with every XHTML web page.

When I try validating *this* web page (i.e., the bug web page), there are tons of errors found in "/usr/share/xml/xhtml/schema/dtd/1.0/xhtml1-transitional.dtd". But that's a DTD -- it's not XML and there's no need to specify OMITTAG NO.

I'm lost when it comes to SGML and XML catalogs. Maybe it's a problem with the w3c-dtd-xhtml, xml-core, sgml-base or sgml-data packages. I suspect it is a problem with libosp5. The same command produced the correct results (i.e., no errors found) on Warty.

This bug is also stagnant in Debian: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=345478

This bug should certainly not be in a "Needs Info" state, since the upstream bug report even says how to fix the package.

Ping? This bug has a simple fix which is linked from the previous comment. It should not be in a NEEDINFO state.

This bug has a fix (described upstream). It should not be expired; it should be solved ;).
