gutsy->hardy network connection is dropped and reestablished over and over again

Binary package hint: dhcdbd

after upgrading from gutsy to hardy the network connection gets dropped after a few seconds and is reestablished shortly thereafter. but after a few more seconds the same thing happens. over and over again.

after some time (maybe 10 minutes) a stable connection is established.
