Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

The time zone options have Georgia as a country, but the capital city (Tbilisi) cannot be selected in the clock applet as a location. This seems different from every other selectable nation. It is also odd as Georgian is a supported translation of Ubuntu.

This seems like it should be a simple fix - if a developer can tell me the file I can certainly go in to the XML (or whatever) and make a patch. Anyone want to mentor me?

affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) → libgweather (Ubuntu)

Correct XML is below, getting this committed by Jaunty would be nice to avoid having a Georgian translation with no Georgian weather support.

<country><name msgctxt="Country">Georgia</name><iso-code>GE</iso-code><fips-code>GG</fips-code><timezones><timezone id="Asia/Tbilisi"/></timezones><tz-hint>Asia/Tbilisi</tz-hint>
<state>
<name>Tbilisi</name>
<fips-code>GG51</fips-code>
<city><name>Tbilisi</name><coordinates>25.038889 102.718333</coordinates>
<location><name>Tbilisi</name>
<code>TBS</code>
<coordinates>41.669167 44.954722</coordinates>
</location></city></state></country>

Thank you for your bug report, how many citizen do you have in your city? See http://live.gnome.org/LibGWeather/ImprovingLocations about how locations are handled, upstream decide to add only major cities. The bug should be sent to bugzilla.gnome.org

Sebastien: About 1.5 million citizens. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tbilisi
Its capital and largest city of Georgia (with lot's of Ubuntu users), so we have country with no cities in the list...
