Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

I'm currently using Jaunty Beta, with all the current updates. Using pidgin 1:2.5.5-1ubuntu5. I have pidgin set to run at startup, and it does so with YM connected, but AIM contacts never appear and then pidgin crashes. Any attempt to start pidgin after the initial crash is met with another crash, no connections and it seems to happen much more quickly. Running pidgin from the command line gives me only:

marco@hexi:~$ pidgin
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

No further information is given. I have tried completely removing piding, libpurple and all other packages related to pidgin and reinstalling with no resolution. Any ideas?
