Bug Description
When trying to restore a window that has been minimised, there is a freeze for about 1-2 seconds before the window appears. This happens with all windows; Firefox, gedit, and gnome-terminal are all affected. The window list button is shown depressed and programs such as glxgears freeze animations during the brief period.
I am using GNOME with no extra fancy things (no dock/extras). The same problem, however, happens with alt-tab and window switchers so there must be some feature with a bug which all programs depend on.
This problem does not occur with metacity, so it's something to do with compiz I think.
I am using Jaunty. This problem does not exist in Intrepid for me. I am using proprietary ATI drivers.
Also: Maximising windows and opening some windows is a bit slow...

I have the same here, but some other symptoms also.
(Jaunty RC, ATI proprietary drivers)
Modify the proportions of a window also freeze the window.
I already had the same symptoms on Intrepid, when using "KDE most experimental" packages from launchpad ppa
