I get a similar message whenever I try to perform any updates since moving to Jaunty:
Extract templates from packages: 100%
Preconfiguring packages ...

I have tried to update only network-manager. I have tried to remove it. I have tried to update all the other packages except network-manager.
All to no avail. Can anyone help?
Thanks.
