Bug Description

After upgraded the following packages sound stopped working in intrepid
linux-headers-2.6.27-11 (2.6.27-11.27) to 2.6.27-11.31
linux-headers-2.6.27-11-generic (2.6.27-11.27) to 2.6.27-11.31
linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic (2.6.27-11.27) to 2.6.27-11.31
linux-libc-dev (2.6.27-11.27) to 2.6.27-11.31

I've included the alsa-info.txt file for 8.10

for the second issue i installed the jaunty beta on a separate partition on the same computer and it's never had sound
here is the alsa info for the jaunty install that was uploaded http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=86e532a70cbf9e6bc4f6e18cc548a811c170a9a7

if you need any more info I'm happy to supply it.

As there is "solved" in the title, has this bug been solved?

solved for me buy installing the 2.6.27-14 kernel in 8.10

2.6.27-11.31 still has a bug for sound

and still no sound in jaunty

Is that a solution? I still have the identical problem with the latest kernel update.

I have the same problem. Going back isn't a solution.

To get past the problem in 8.10 I added the pre-release source in System>Administration>Software sources under the updates tab. I then updated to the 2.6.27-14 kernel in the update manager. for me fglrx failed to be be included due to dkms having two versions, but that was fixed by installing the driver from ati.

I updated to 2.6.27-14 and sound was back, even better than before. Just reinstalled madwifi and everything works now. Thx
