Huawei USB E169 HSPDA modem not working

I upgraded my Ubuntu Desktop from Intrepid to Jaunty beta and also created Jaunty beta on

my USB thumb drive today. In both Jaunty installation, the NetworkManager cannot detect, connect or

disconnect my Huawei USB E169 HSPDA modem. Wired and wireless connection works fine. I am using a

HP Pavilion dv1000. The Huawei E169 modem works fine in Ubuntu 8.10

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe repository. Now with Karmic this bug is obsolete, I'm sorry that i didn't give any furhter information. I found a workaround by using UMTSmon 0.8. Sorry for any inconvenience.

I'm running lucid beta2 and just bought this device (branded as Vodafone K3765).
Network manager does not detect it.

My device ID is 12d1:1520 is it the same as yours or should I open a new bug?

To fix this problem I just needed to install the package "usb-modeswitch-data"
